The Stroudsburg Shade defeated the Palm Beach Bums, 6-4, at Envoys Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Stroudsburg was right fielder Jelmar Geels. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Earning his 15th save of the year was Ted Thian. Stroudsburg bumps their record to 43-40 with the win.

Hoang Kieu, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with one out in the top of the seventh. That's when he connected on a curveball from Hitoshi Miyahira for a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put Stroudsburg in front, 5-3.

Kieu called the triumph "a good team win."
