A nice crowd turned out to see the Houston Sting and Eugene Emeralds clash at Prefontaine Park.

The Houston Sting cruised to a 15-4 win over the Eugene Emeralds at Prefontaine Park today. Steve Pollard led the way, going 2-for-2 for Houston. Houston reliever Javier Martínez picked up the win, upping his record to 7-2. Francisco Bibian was saddled with the loss.

In the top of the sixth inning, Neal Thacker contributed a big hit for the Sting. With Houston leading 7-2, he hammered a grand slam home run.

"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Pollard.

Houston now owns a record of 44-41.
