The St. Petersburg Pelicans met little resistance from the Brisbane Bush Wackers, beating them 11-2 at Billy Mathews Field. Adrian Sparks led the way. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for St. Petersburg. St. Petersburg reliever Orlando Rivas picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Miguel Torres absorbed the loss. The Pelicans' win now puts them at 32-50.

Sparks contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the second. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 2-run single. It was one at-bat among others that helped St. Petersburg get the win.

Brisbane manager Pete Barrett called the blowout loss "just something that happens."
