Victory Pushes Road Warriors Record to 51-28
|
The Nichols Gnats got a sterling performance from catcher Kakuro Tanaka, but the Road Warriors still prevailed, 5-4. Tanaka was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jack Brewer got credit for the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. António Torres was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 9 save opportunities.
In the bottom of the fifth, Miguel Rosero had a big 2-run triple off Tsugunao Carroll. With the triple, the Westside shortstop put his team in front, 5-4. He was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI in the contest.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Rosero. "Just do my job."
Westside goes to 51-28. The win puts them 4 games up in their division.
