A nice crowd turned out to see the St. Paul Saints and West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws clash at Penlee Park.
The inspired effort of West Virginia third baseman José Hinojosa was not enough to prevent a 7-4 loss to the St. Paul Saints. Hinojosa went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. At 33-42, the Saints are currently 5th in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division.
Toronto, Canada-born Bob Ward came through in the clutch. In the top of the fifth, with the bases loaded and the Saints trailing 3-2, he hit a bases-clearing double to right to put St. Paul on top.
Ward said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.
