The Bethesda Hornets got a magnificent effort from pitcher Javier Rodríguez, who kept New Orleans hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Hornets win at Hornets Field. Hiroshi Nagasawa picked up the save for Bethesda, his 24th of the year. The Jedi Knights, at 43-33, have lost 4 straight games.
Tied up with the Jedi Knights in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Hornets got a boost from left fielder Miguel Hernández. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Hernández saw a 2-1 changeup from Ben Krupnik and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Bethesda on top, 2-1.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Hernández.
