Eugene starter Joaquín Salas had a strong outing against the San Angelo Mustangs at Prefontaine Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Eugene occupies 5th place in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division at 31-44.

Bill Rendell said the idea of hitting a home run barely crossed his mind when he came to bat in the bottom of the 11th. Rendell belted a 2-run home run to stake Eugene to a 5-3 lead. His 3rd home run of the season came off San Angelo pitcher Sam Thomas.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Rendell.
