The Palm Beach Bums scored a 6-5 win versus the Bethesda Hornets at Envoys Ballpark. Palm Beach first baseman Yoshimochi Takahashi nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Joe Manfredi picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-2. Gabriel Martínez was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was Ryan Wise, his 3rd.
Takahashi turned the game around in the bottom of the seventh. That's when the Palm Beach first baseman dialed up a 2-run home run. Just like that, Palm Beach's 4-3 deficit turned into a 5-4 lead.
"The vibe's good," said Palm Beach manager Juan Carlos Serrano. "We've got to keep it going."
Palm Beach is now 37-40, Bethesda 43-33.
