Hornets Come Up Short at Palm Beach
The Palm Beach Bums did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Bethesda Hornets at Envoys Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Takeo Tsuchiya, who captured player of the game honors. Ryan Wise picked up the save for Palm Beach, his 2nd of the year. The 5th-place Bums are now 36-40, the Hornets 43-32.

The Bums beat the Hornets in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Steve Holloway produced in the bottom of the third. Batting against Bethesda pitcher Jose Rodriguez, Holloway gave his team a 3-1 lead when he hit a 2-run single.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Palm Beach skipper Juan Carlos Serrano. "I can't complain."
