Bums Drop Hornets with Late Score
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Palm Beach Bums and Bethesda Hornets were able to complete their ballgame.
The Palm Beach Bums topped the Bethesda Hornets, 3-2, in Donnie Moore League action at Envoys Ballpark. The player of the game was Palm Beach pitcher and Havana, Cuba native Fidel Castro. Ryan Wise recorded his 1st save for Palm Beach.
Palm Beach took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With no one out, left fielder Yoshimochi Takahashi hit a solo home run that fired up the crowd.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Takahashi.
The 5th-place Bums improved to 35-40.
