Charleston second baseman Scott Tuff had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Tuff went 3-3 with a home run and a double, even as San Angelo beat the Panthers, 4-3. Tuff was named the player of the game despite the loss. Al Hrabosky Jr. closed the game out for San Angelo, earning his 20th save. San Angelo is third in the Lyman Bostock League Earl Weaver Division with a record of 40-31.

San Angelo took control in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hai-dong Szema hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Mustangs.

"Winning is not something we take for granted," Szema said.
