Neal Thacker did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Houston Sting from losing, 4-2, to the Palm Beach Bums at Woodland Park. Thacker went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. Palm Beach reliever Eddy Aguilar picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Everton Mailes took the loss. Bob Sulewski converted his 16th save in 19 tries.

Yoshimochi Takahashi didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to put Palm Beach on top, 2-0.

"I had a good game," said Takahashi. "Winning makes it even better."

The Bums improved to 34-40.
