Princes Top Bush Wackers, 7-4
|
Bel Air left fielder Jonathan Weidlich played a vital role in his team's 7-4 triumph over Brisbane. He went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Bel Air. Bel Air reliever Fernando Buzo picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Félix Ruíz was saddled with the loss. Lee Krause got the save, the 1st for him this season.
In a game filled with surprises, perhaps none was as big as Weidlich's contribution. The Bel Air center fielder is a relative newcomer. With one out in the bottom of the seventh, when the Princes had runners on 2nd and 3rd, Weidlich delivered a crucial 2-run single.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Weidlich told a Bel Air Bulletin reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
The Princes sit in last place in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division with a record of 27-44.
