Danny Loftis could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Palm Beach Bums lost, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Houston Sting at Woodland Park. Cameron Sullivan recorded the save for Houston, his 4th of the season. Palm Beach's current losing streak has reached 5 games.

In the bottom of the third inning, center fielder Steve Pollard delivered a key hit for the Sting. With Houston leading 2-1, he ripped a solo home run.

"Not to be Captain Obvious," said Palm Beach manager Juan Carlos Serrano, "but we need to push more runs across the plate."
