Aamodt Leads Mustangs to Win
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the San Angelo Mustangs and Charleston Panthers were able to complete their ballgame.
The San Angelo Mustangs powered past the Charleston Panthers, 8-3, at Franklin Mountains Field. Roe Aamodt was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4, to lead the charge. San Angelo reliever Emílio Buenvenida picked up the win, bumping his record to 6-1. Adrián García was collared with the loss.
With the game tied, 0-0, in the top of the second, Aamodt had a key at-bat for San Angelo. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Aamodt hit a 3-run home run off Adrián García, making the score 3-0, Mustangs.
Aamodt called the win "a collective effort."
