Victory Pushes Warriors Record to 37-31
|
Benefiting from Mariano Palmeiro's productive game, the Winfield Warriors downed the Kingwood Knights, 4-1. Palmeiro went 2-4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times for the Warriors. Oscar Rojas picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-1. John Rheinecker was tagged with the loss. Winfield bumps their record to 37-31 with the win.
In the top of the fifth inning, right fielder Gustaf Zegwaard had a key at-bat for the Warriors. With Winfield leading 1-0, he banged a solo home run.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Kingwood skipper Barry Bowman, "and it cost us."
