Saints Beat Mustangs, 8-5
|
The St. Paul Saints beat the San Angelo Mustangs, 8-5, at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. The Saints got a fine performance from center fielder Rafael Cruz, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. T.J. Balaski recorded the save for St. Paul, his 4th of the season. St. Paul is last in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division with a record of 29-38.
T.J. Oster wielded some clout for St. Paul. The right fielder had a grand slam home run in the top of the first for the Saints. It put his team ahead, 4-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Oster went 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Cruz told the St. Paul Bulletin. "It's as simple as that."
