With first baseman Jesus Plana leading the charge, the Stroudsburg Shade defeated the Bethesda Hornets, 8-1, at Hornets Field. Plana, who is tied for 5th in the AHL in RBI with 41, was 2-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Tony Alfonso, the winner, improved to 4-4. He held the Hornets to 1 earned run on 4 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 1. With the win, the Shade have a record of 34-32.

Making an impact for Stroudsburg was center fielder Greg Holder. He drilled a 2-run triple in the top of the third. For the game, Holder went 4-5 with 2 triples and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Holder told a Stroudsburg Gazette reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
