Emeralds Subdue West Virginia, 3-1
|
Eugene got an elite performance from starting pitcher Francisco Bibian in taking a 3-1 decision over the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws. Andy Ryan closed the game out for Eugene, earning his 14th save. At 27-40, the Emeralds are currently 5th in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division.
Also having an impact was right fielder Lance Russell, who stroked a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth for Eugene. For the game, Russell went 1 for 3 with a double.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Bibian.
