Frosties Win Again, Extend Streak to 6
|
The Barrow Frosties extended their winning streak at The Blizzard Bowl.
The Barrow Frosties defeated the Tree City Black Squirrels, 4-2, at The Blizzard Bowl. Barrow catcher Juan Archuleta was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 4-4 with 4 singles. Barrow reliever Broderick Young picked up the win, bumping his record to 4-1. Jun Zhou was collared with the loss.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the second inning when the Frosties sent teenager Dave Turner to the plate against Black Squirrels hurler Jun Zhou. With a runner on 1st and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 0-1 fastball to score 1.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Turner told the Barrow Gazette.
This win makes it 6 in a row for Barrow.
