Coney Island Coliseum was the site for Lyman Bostock League action featuring the Coney Island Cyclones and Charleston Panthers.

The Charleston Panthers thumped the Coney Island Cyclones, 9-0, at Coney Island Coliseum. David Giese was a big reason his team got the win. Giese went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Charleston reliever Brad Bell was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Julio Ochoa took the loss.

Also pitching in was Charleston second baseman Scott Tuff, who hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, Tuff was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

Panthers manager Ánibal Machado had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
