Jedi Knights Win at San Angelo, 7-3
|
The New Orleans Jedi Knights downed the San Angelo Mustangs, 7-3, at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. Edwin Ruiz led the way, going 3-for-5 for New Orleans. José Martínez recorded the save for New Orleans, his 1st of the season. New Orleans is in third place in the Lyman Bostock League Earl Weaver Division with a record of 37-28.
New Orleans shortstop José Pérez helped the Jedi Knights go up, 3-1, in the top of the third inning. With the game tied, Pérez hit a 2-run double off San Angelo pitcher Joe Kearns.
"I like winning," Ruiz told the New Orleans Chronicle. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
