Rubber City beat Seattle on the strength of starter James Thompson's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. Rubber City reliever Shinzo Sasaki got the win, raising his record to 4-3. Alim bin Umar was tagged with the loss. John Cosman got credit for the save for Rubber City. It was his 2nd of the year.
Tekkan Tanaka's hit in the top of the 11th was a game-changer. With no one out, he rapped a slider from Alim bin Umar for a solo home run. It put Rubber City in front, 4-3.
"This game tested our mettle," said Thompson.
The losing streak for Seattle has now reached 4 games.
