Cabo San Lucas Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
Ángel Ruíz never let the Toreros get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Bombers to a 3-0 win. Ruíz went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 7-1. Today's win puts South Carolina at 32-22, while Cabo San Lucas falls to 25-30.
Also having an impact was designated hitter Zhao-ying Gai, who stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fifth for South Carolina. For the game, Gai was 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Matt Johnson. "That was the problem."
