Sting Beat Hornets, 5-2
|
Houston center fielder John Thompson had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 5-2 win over the Bethesda Hornets. Houston reliever Dani Sánchez was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Gabriel Martínez. The Sting improve their record to 28-34 with the win over Bethesda.
Thompson came through with some timely hitting for Houston. With the score 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth and two down, Thompson hit a 1-1 cutter for a run-scoring double. His 7th double of the season made it 3-2, Houston.
"I had a great game, I don't know how else to explain it," Thompson said with a grin. "Jupiter was aligned with Mars, I guess."
