Blue Claws Lose, 5-2, at Franklin Mountains Field
|
The Charleston Panthers defeated the Baltimore Blue Claws, 5-2, at Franklin Mountains Field today. Leading the charge for Charleston was right fielder José Marrero. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Bill Poulin earned the save for Charleston, his 2nd. Today's win puts Charleston at 28-33, while Baltimore falls to 39-22.
Marrero contributed when he hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. Coming with two outs and the bases empty, the home run proved to be critical to helping Charleston get the win.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Marrero said.
