Mustangs Clip Bloodhounds in Tight Contest
|
The Boise Bloodhounds extended their losing streak with a loss to the San Angelo Mustangs.
The San Angelo Mustangs took Boise pitcher Frank Clark's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Grand Canyon Valley Park. The final score had San Angelo getting past the Bloodhounds, 3-2. Clark went 5.2 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 4. San Angelo reliever Alex Acevedo picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Pete Tupper was collared with the loss.
Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Ryan Blossom's at-bat with no one out in the top of the ninth was crucial. The San Angelo right fielder hit a 2-run double, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"Sometimes, you can be too aggressive," said Boise manager Nick Brown. "You need to let the game come to you."
The losses continue to pile up for Boise, which has now fallen 12 times in a row.
