Hornets Take Nail-Biter Over Black Squirrels

The Bethesda Hornets turned back the Tree City Black Squirrels, 4-3, at Hornets Field. George Bays was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Reliever Hiroshi Nagasawa picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Nathan Briggs took the loss. The Hornets sit in third place in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division with a record of 34-26.
The game came to a sudden end. In the bottom of the tenth, with one out, Bays drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It gave Bethesda the 4-3 walk-off win.
Bays told the Bethesda Bulletin: "I think I thrive on conflict. It brings out my best."
