River Chiefs Squelch Saints Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Chippewa River Chiefs picked up a win at The Reservation, knocking off the St. Paul Saints, 4-0. Starting pitcher Ben Crabb was an essential part of his team's success. The save was credited to Brad Ide, his 15th. The River Chiefs sit in second place in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division with a record of 33-22.
Kien Thean brought the hometown crowd to its feet with one out in the bottom of the third. That's when the 22-year old left fielder belted a 2-run home run. With the round-tripper, the River Chiefs took the lead, 2-0.
"Ben was throwing strikes, locating well," said Chippewa manager Bruce Leah.
