The Nichols Gnats got a sterling performance from pitcher Soo-yeon Suh, but the Jedi Knights still prevailed, 3-2. Suh was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings allowing 1 run. Rich Owen recorded the save for New Orleans, his 14th of the season. Nichols's current losing streak is now 5 games.
New Orleans took a 3-2 lead on Jesse Sutton's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Nichols pitcher Seisaburo Sasaki in the bottom of the eighth.
"That's baseball," said Nichols manager Reese O'Higgins. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
