Blue Claws Snatch Late Win

The Blue Claws grabbed a win, 6-5, at Old Bay Park, overcoming a fine effort from Chippewa pitcher Luis García. García went 6.2 innings and allowed no earned runs. Reliever Gabriel Pérez picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Cisco Cantú took the loss. The Blue Claws go to 33-21, putting them first in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division.
Dave Calderon, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the 11th. That's when he connected on a fastball from Cisco Cantú for a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season put Baltimore in front, 6-5.
"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Baltimore field general Bernard Jacq.
