Hornets Fall to Princes, 5-2
|
Bel Air Princes starter Manuel Pena was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Bethesda Hornets, 5-2. Pena, the winner, moves to 2-3. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 2 walks. Toru Saito picked up the save for Bel Air, his 3rd of the year.
One of the key players for the Princes was left fielder Dave Newcombe, who drilled a 2-run double in the bottom of the second inning. For the game, Newcombe was 2-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Newcombe said.
Bel Air is now 19-33.
