McKoy Excels, But Jedi Knights Win
The Boise Bloodhounds and New Orleans Jedi Knights were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Grand Canyon Valley Park.

The Boise Bloodhounds got a superb performance from left fielder Omar McKoy. Still, it wasn't enough to beat New Orleans. The Jedi Knights won the game, 8-5. In spite of the loss, McKoy was named the player of the game. He belted 2 home runs. New Orleans reliever Luis Tirado picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Marty Stephens was saddled with the loss.

Ivan Nunez provided some late-game heroics for New Orleans. In the top of the eighth inning, he hit a bases-clearing triple. It came on a first pitch fastball from Marty Stephens and propelled New Orleans to a 8-5 lead.

"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Nick Brown. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."

The 5th-place Bloodhounds have dropped 5 straight games.
