Saints Knock Off Panthers at Saints Ballpark

Charleston had no answer for St. Paul Saints hurler Gareth King, who overwhelmed Panthers hitters as the Saints coasted to a 7-0 victory. King, now 3-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Getting the save was Blake Connell, his 1st.
In the bottom of the second, Chia-liang Li hit a 2-run home run for St. Paul. The 8th home run of the season for the St. Paul third baseman put the Saints on top, 2-0.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Li.
At 21-29, St. Paul is in last place in the Lyman Bostock League Dick Williams Division.
