Sting Rally to Eke Out Win
In a well-pitched game between the Houston Sting and the San Angelo Mustangs, pitcher Oscar Mata was superb. The Houston right-hander was named the player of the game in Houston's 2-1 win. With the win over San Angelo, the Sting improved to 23-28.

Late in the game, first baseman Toshio Matsuzaki had a big at-bat for Houston. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring triple off Marcos Colón. The play gave the Sting a 2-1 lead.

"We had a good game plan," Mata said, "and we were able to execute it."
