Mustangs Fall Short, 4-3, at Houston
Houston first baseman Toshio Matsuzaki was instrumental in his team's 4-3 win over the San Angelo Mustangs. Matsuzaki went 2-3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Sting. Houston reliever Rennie Hill picked up the win to move to 1-2. Marlo Freeman suffered the loss. Shih-k'ai Mi earned the save for Houston, his 2nd of the year.

Matsuzaki had a key at-bat for Houston early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and gave Houston an early 2-0 lead.

Matsuzaki attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."

The Sting sit in 4th place in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division with a record of 22-28.
