Hornets Squelch Mustangs Offense in Shutout Win
Cliff McDaniel pitched well, but his team, the San Angelo Mustangs, still dropped a 3-0 decision to the Bethesda Hornets at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium. Bethesda reliever Howard Downey picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Cliff McDaniel absorbed the loss. Bethesda's record now stands at 29-21, placing them third in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division.

Ramón Roniero contributed to the Hornets cause with a productive at-bat in the top of the first inning. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double, giving Bethesda the lead.

Afterward, Hornets manager Francisco Solano was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
