|
In a low-scoring tilt between the St. Petersburg Pelicans and the Charleston Panthers, Sylvester Norwood was the difference-maker. The St. Petersburg right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. The save went to Jaiden Harris, his 3rd this season. St. Petersburg is in last place in the Donnie Moore League Dusty Baker Division with a record of 18-28.
A key at-bat in the game came in the top of the sixth inning when the Pelicans sent teenager Omar Mora to the plate against Panthers hurler Aaron Buckley. With a runner on 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 2-1 fastball to score 1.
"It's good to win," Mora told the St. Petersburg Daily. "I like to have fun doing it."
