Late Rally by Cyclones Seals 4th Straight Win
|
The Cyclones faced a stiff challenge from Chippewa pitcher Jeff Stephens, but persevered to claim a win at The Reservation. The final score was 6-3. Stephens went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Jamie Morgan earned the save, his 12th. Coney Island has now won 4 games in a row.
Late-game drama came in the top of the eighth inning. With two out and the bases loaded, Coney Island center fielder Carlos Gonzalez hit a bases-clearing double, helping his team get the win.
"The vibe's good," said Coney Island manager Gerald Pugh. "We've got to keep it going."
