Loss to Blue Claws Extends Charleston Losing Streak
|
Charleston had no answer for Baltimore Blue Claws starter Oscar Saucedo, who flummoxed Panthers hitters as the Blue Claws cruised to a 7-0 victory. Saucedo, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 5.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. Casey Violet sewed up the save, his 1st.
In the top of the first inning, Justin Goldstein went deep for the Blue Claws. With Baltimore leading 2-0, he drilled a grand slam home run.
"We're our own worst enemy right now," said Charleston skipper Ánibal Machado.
The losses continue to pile up for Charleston, which has now fallen 9 times in a row.
