Loss to Road Warriors Extends Bel Air Losing Streak
|
The Westside Road Warriors defeated the Bel Air Princes, 9-5, at Road Warriors Field. Westside third baseman Li-xue Liu was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win was Nick Lenza's in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Tomohito Ihara took the loss for Bel Air. António Torres nailed down his 2nd save.
The Road Warriors beat the Princes in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Jordan Kamen produced in the bottom of the second. Batting against Bel Air pitcher Tomohito Ihara, Kamen gave his team a 3-1 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Liu.
The losing skid has reached 6 games for Bel Air.
