Jedi Knights Take Nail-Biter Over Mustangs
|
The New Orleans Jedi Knights picked up a win at The Republic, knocking off the San Angelo Mustangs, 3-2. On the mound for New Orleans was right-hander Douggie Gimson, who played a pivotal role in the win. The first-place Jedi Knights have a one-game lead in their division.
Malachi Smith had the critical at-bat for New Orleans. With one out in the bottom of the 12th inning, he hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It gave New Orleans the 3-2 walk-off win.
"This place sure got loud," said Mason Eilers, the New Orleans manager.
