Bush Wackers Roll to 9-1 Win Over Shade
|
Brisbane played host to Stroudsburg at the friendly confines of Baylor Ballpark.
The Brisbane Bush Wackers thumped the Stroudsburg Shade, 9-1, at Baylor Ballpark. Barry Huffman was a big reason his team got the win. Huffman was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Dario Reyes closed the game out for Brisbane, earning his 1st save.
Brisbane catcher David Newsome gave his club a productive at-bat in the bottom of the fourth inning. With the bases loaded and the Bush Wackers leading 2-1, Newsome got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Newsome told a Brisbane Observer reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
The first-place Bush Wackers have won 4 straight.
