Pelicans Drop Another One
|
Not everyone stuck through the 63-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
Brisbane used a superb performance from starting pitcher Grant Huffman to down the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 5-1. In 5.1 innings, Huffman surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run.
With two out in the bottom of the second, Dan Thibodeau drilled a 2-run home run to right. It put Brisbane ahead, 2-0. For the game, Thibodeau was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
"They played a better game than we did," said St. Petersburg skipper Clement Snow.
The Pelicans have now dropped 5 straight.
