Panthers Continue Skid Thanks to Evans, Saints
|
Phil Evans left his imprint on the 9-6 St. Paul win against the Charleston Panthers. Evans went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The winner was Gareth King, who threw 89 pitches over 5.2 innings. The left-hander was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits. George Signorile sewed up the save, his 1st.
Flexing his muscles for St. Paul was Roberto Molina. The left fielder had a 2-run home run in the top of the second for the Saints. It put his team ahead, 2-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Molina was 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Molina told the St. Paul Bulletin.
Charleston, at 17-21, has lost 5 straight.
