Renouf Lifts Mustangs to 9-2 Triumph
|
The exploits of center fielder Lane Renouf, the 12 overall pick in the 2031 draft, helped the San Angelo Mustangs defeat the Winfield Warriors, 9-2. Renouf was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. At 21-14, the Mustangs find themselves in first place in the Lyman Bostock League Earl Weaver Division.
Renouf came through with some timely hitting for San Angelo. With the score 1-0 in the top of the fifth and two down, Renouf hit a 2-0 fastball for a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season made it 3-0, San Angelo.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Eric Stone.
