Bloodhounds Get Past San Angelo for 1-0 Win
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Boise Bloodhounds and the San Angelo Mustangs, Francisco Valenzuela was the difference-maker. The Boise left-hander earned player of the game honors in the 1-0 win. Boise reliever Andres Arzate picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mark Sandwell was saddled with the loss. Pete Tupper earned the save for Boise, his 9th of the year.
Hoo-gwo Qing had a productive at-bat for the Bloodhounds with no one out in the top of the seventh. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the pinch hitter hit a single. The at-bat was important in the Boise win.
"Runs were at a premium," said Boise manager Nick Brown.
Boise, now 11-26, holds 5th place in the Lyman Bostock League Earl Weaver Division.
