Bums Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Dancin' Outlaws
|
The Palm Beach Bums got a stellar performance from pitcher Danny Loftis, who handcuffed the West Virginia offense en route to a 3-0 win at Envoys Ballpark. Palm Beach reliever Joe Manfredi picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Takeo Takano took the loss. Bob Sulewski recorded the save for Palm Beach, his 8th of the season.
Palm Beach took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With no one out, catcher Bartolo Muñíz hit a solo home run that aroused the crowd.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Muñíz.
The Bums sit in 5th place in the Donnie Moore League Dusty Baker Division with a record of 16-17.
