Dancin' Outlaws Shut Out Bums
|
West Virginia right-hander António Fabián was sensational in shutting out the Palm Beach Bums, 3-0. Fabián, now 3-2, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no earned runs. Getting the save was Yuko Kinoshita, his 11th.
The Dancin' Outlaws got a big at-bat from left fielder Jesus Escamilla. For the game, Escamilla went 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave West Virginia a 1-0 lead.
Afterward, Dancin' Outlaws manager Enrique Ramírez was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
West Virginia now owns a record of 18-15.
