Gnats Take Down Jedi Knights, 9-2
|
The New Orleans Jedi Knights and Nichols Gnats brought some excitement to The Republic.
Ji-hoon Park left his imprint on the 9-2 Nichols win against the New Orleans Jedi Knights. Park, who is tied for 4th in the BOL in doubles with 8, went 2-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Nichols reliever Ruben Abreu picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jesús Espinosa took the loss.
Park contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Nichols in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Park took a fastball from Jesús Espinosa and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Gnats to leap in front, 3-1.
"I really like what we did out there today," Park said after the game.
Today's win puts Nichols at 10-23, while New Orleans falls to 20-12.
